Axiom to design and build connected smart thermostat

Axiom Manufacturing Services is setting up to make a smart Internet-connected thermostat for Switchee “a British technology company that works with over 130 social housing providers”, said Axiom.

Our “responsibilities will extend beyond the design of bespoke manufacture and test solutions and printed circuit board assembly, providing a full turnkey solution to ensure complete boxed products are delivered”, it continued.

The Newport Gwent company has been brought in to boost production.

“The device is currently manufactured by another UK manufacturer. This production will continue,” Switchee told Electronics Weekly. “Switchee has partnered with Axiom to increase the pace of our manufacturing output capabilities.”

What is it?

“The Switchee device is a consumer-grade, touch-screen, internet-connected, smart thermostat that allows social housing residents to control their heating and hot water,” said Switchee. “Built within the device are light, humidity, temperature and pressure sensors that feed real-time property data into our secure cloud.”
